A New Hope

A few years ago, all we could talk about was Star Wars. Yeah, geekdom reigned supreme in our musings, discussions, and out-’n’-out arguments about details such as character development, alternate versions, authentic canon, sound effects, musical themes, and the like. We wasted a lot of time yakking and moaning about those movies and books.

Or did we? Was it all a waste of time?

Maybe the takeaway is that we were learning to develop our dissection skills by targeting a familiar collection of stories, visuals, and soundscapes, about which we were all very passionate. While critiquing the end products of those movies and books, we became achingly acquainted with our own subjective tendencies to delve, rip, shred, and mend, influenced by our personal tastes, opinions, and feelings. Immaturity had its place, doh, we reckon.

We are a little older now, we know, and a little more mature, we hope. We do know that those excruciatingly nerdy exercises of the past have taught us to look further at ourselves and our own creative processes, individually and as a collective. The learning will continue, as it should, but we hope you will believe as we do that our upcoming music will illustrate new maturing songwriting and performance. Never have we been more confident and passionate about a new collection of songs, and we can’t wait to share them all with you.
